Introduction

 Nepal in the News| Binod Chaudhary opened a 'fire' against the government to obtain a license for CG Telecom. Chaudhary Group is now in a great trouble. The then unified CPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' had already made a provisional government with the resignation of the Prime Minister.(An important video is at the end stay connected) 

Generally, a temporary government does not make big decisions. However, at a meeting of Prachanda's Cabinet on May 2, STM Telecom decided to allow the current basic telecommunication services to be integrated to the current CG communications.

The Nepali Congress and the UCPN-Maoist formed the government at that time. According to the agreement between the Congress and the Maoists, Prachanda left the government. Then Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba was becoming prime minister.

The last time the work was done was from the telecommunication authorities in the telecom sector. The government had given CG a license to operate mobile services across the country, which was the main objective of CG.

This was the Chaudhary Group's first mistake. Because what would you say to a good visitor to your home if he did not go through the door or through a window. The strategy of CG was not good and CG failed to work according to the strategy.

Decision from the Council of Ministers rather than granting a license is an abuse of power. Nepal Rastra Bank has now banned licenses of banks and financial institutions. Once you think seriously, what will happen if the Cabinet decides to give a license to a bank?


Despite the efforts of 3/4 times, the minister did not give time, and spread misunderstandings regarding the Chaudhary Group which made them in a great Trouble.


As per the decision of the Telecommunication Authority, it was the policy of granting Integrated Basic Telecommunication License to the company which was allowed to operate the limited mobile service. However, CG made the decision from the Council of Ministers, not to the authorities.


Chaudhary, who became the proportional CA member from the CPN-UML in the last five years, had much discussion about contesting the elections directly from the UML. At that time, KP Oli was like the main opposition in the UML. At last, he did not take the decision to contest directly from the UML from Nawalparasi. After 7 years, he was not politically active for two years.


Four years after Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba became Prime Minister, Chaudhary entered the Congress. And, as a proportional candidate from the House of Representatives, he also became an MP which was a very good strategy of CG to be in politics. Although he was a candidate from the UML in the five-year election, he did not ask for a vote in the formal assembly.

Earlier, billionaire Binod Chaudhary's telecom license was terminated the day before when he offered free service.

By entering the Congress, he was involved in election campaigns in various districts to win the Congress. Only Congress contended that it could prosper the country.

However, in politics, Chaudhary's 'Badluck'. Congress lost the election with the Left coalition between the UML and the Maoists.

Although proportional MP from Nepali Congress, Chaudhary does business. However, he is now an MP as well as a member of the General Assembly.

In the three-year election, the CPI (M) had secured about two-thirds of the vote. After that, many assessed Chaudhary not getting a telecom license.


Chaudhary, who is known for taking work out of disputes in any difficult situation, announced that he would invest Rs 2 billion in the telecom sector at the investment conference organized by the Oli government. Chaudhary adopted a strategy to pressure the government by signing an agreement with the government to invest in telecom business.

Not only that, the Chinese President's visit also raised the issue. And also lobbying for CG Telecom from international media including India. The extent of the use of Nepali media is as clear as the sun.

A strategic partnership was also signed in Barcelona between CG Communication and Turkey's Turksell in the presence of Oli's trusted communications minister Gokul Baskota. Chaudhary wanted to exert more pressure on the government by negotiating with a disputed company like Turksell in the presence of the Minister of Media.

After the investment conference, many people were saying that Chaudhary Group now gets a unified license for mobile services. In the meantime the highest court reached the court to take the mobile frequency. The now-defunct Chief Justice, Cholendra Shamsher Rana, has reversed the interim order issued by Chief Justice Deepak Raj Joshi in favor of CG. The court did not support the fact that the data submitted by CG was wrong.

Binod Chaudhary gets telecom license only after paying Rs 3 billion: Communications Minister Baskota

In the last few days, the dispute between the Chaudhary Group and the government has come to the surface. Contrary to history, Vinod Chaudhary, who did not respond aggressively to the media in his business decisions, has spread the illusion that the media did not understand.

The Nepali Congress has alleged that the government has not been licensed by the Chaudhary Group's company. The Nepali Congress-led Public Accounts Committee had also demanded information on the telecommunication authority not licensed to CG.

On Thursday, at a press conference organized by the government at a regular press conference to announce the decision of the cabinet, Gokul Baskota, Minister of Information and Communications, said that the license would be paid only by paying Rs.3 billion.

Minister Baskota said that the people of the opposition, being a great businessman, went beyond the rules and the lawer licenses have already become clear.

It is wrong to pay 3 billion for a license like Minister Baskota's. The telecom company has to pay the fee in installments within the first three years of licensing.On Friday, Binod Chaudhary, president of the Chaudhary Group, wrote on the social network Twitter that the media is spreading confusion.

The group said on Sunday that it was not licensed to do business according to the rules of the press conference and that the unnecessary dispute of Rs 2 billion was withdrawn.

According to a Chaudhary Group source, Binod Chaudhary opened a 'fire' against the government after he was not licensed. Choudhary wants to fight the last battle with the government.

Chaudhary Group's managing director, Nirvana Chaudhary, said in an interview with Clikmandu that he had not given any time to meet for 3 times.

CG must wait some time to see if the fire opened against the government gives you a license. However, there is a possibility that Chaudhary opened fire on the Oli government, which seeks to defeat its opponents ego.

No doubt Binod Chaudhary is a successful businessman. However, he was involved in active politics for the last time. Politics is a much more complicated subject than business. This could create more problems for him and had made CG in a great Trouble 

Because he is a businessman, if he were doing business only, he could survive on the Everest of success. The irony of our country is that the trend of leaders to do business, business politics, artists to create theater.
